The Life Beyond the Bars

This is taken in the Suleman Pasha Madrassa in the Citadel of Cairo.

Looking from the sparse room into the lushious light.

I often feel like being in a prison created by myself.
Always the same feelings, thoughts, hopes, desires.
I'm taking them with me to Egypt and although my environment will be
remarkably different I will still be myself. Unless I see the choice.
Unless I see that the prison door is - as Rumi says - locked from the inside.

I only need to turn the key and open the door.
